Fees are subject to variation depending on the assessment/services you are required. Please note, obtaining a referral from GP  under the Medicare Benefits Schedule, will make you eligible to receive a  rebate from Medicare or your respective health fund.

Rebates

To obtain a rebate for a  session with an Occupational Therapist, a referral from your GP is needed. Inform your GP that you want to see an Occupational Therapist for Medicare rebate for:

1. ECP – Occupational Therapy services (up to 5 per calendar year)

or

2. Medicare Mental Health Care Plan – Focussed Psychological Strategies with an Occupational Therapist 

(Individual item number: 80125, 80130, 80135m 80140)

Who do I have to be referred by?

What sort of services will be provided to me?

Any Focused Psychological Strategy (FPS), including: psychoeducation, cognitive-behavioural therapy, relaxation strategies, skills training (e.g. cognitive rehabilitation/retraining) and pain management /chronic disease management.

How many sessions am I allowed? 

1. Clients with an assessed mental health disorder – up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

2. Clients with chronic medical condition and complex care needs – up to 5 individual sessions per calendar year.
